Our mission...
A community working together to nurture hope and healing in the lives of children and families impacted by child sexual abuse.

What we do at no cost to families

Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) are unique by design because they’re built from the ground up (philosophically and literally) to create a calm, homelike environment for all child victims and their non-offending family members.

As a CAC, Brooks’ Place is comfortable, private, and child-friendly.

Located in a peaceful neighborhood “home,” we provide a safe space for child victims of abuse and assault to talk about what happened to them.

Our caring team coordinates investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse, all while helping abused children heal. This well-coordinated, multidisciplinary team responds to allegations of child abuse or victimization, beginning with a forensic interview and extending through counseling services for children (and their non-offending family members or guardians).

What does a CAC do?

What we do
  • Reduces trauma for children who have been victims of abuse.
  • Reduces the number of inter-views children have to endure during the investigation.
  • Offers links to specialized medical examination and treatment.
  • Increases communication and collaboration among community agencies investigating, prosecuting, and providing support services.
  • Increases successful prosecutions of child abuse cases.
  • Provides training for the community and other child abuse professionals.
